Since he was five years old, Charlie
Wallace, Core's V.P. and Senior
Partner, knew that music would be
a part of his life. When he first
studied at Loyola University of
Chicago, he was sure his mission
in life was to be a musical performer.
In the ‘70s he wrote several
songs and his band, Argonaut, was
a favorite in the Chicago Club scene.
In 1977, he made the move to New
York where he sang and danced on
Broadway for five years in shows
that included Cats, Sweeny Todd
and Les Mis.
"In 1981, when I moved to Boulder,
Colorado, my goal was to continue
on the artistic path but, after
struggling for a year, I took a
position in sales at Data Storage
Solutions, one of the first storage-focused
distributors and the first company
in North America to distribute Seagate
hard drives – the 5 Megabyte
variety!" After a year of sales
success, Charlie was promoted to
V.P. of sales and one year later
he bought the company – so
much for theatre!
Well, Charlie's passion for music
has never ended and, in California,
Charlie has performed with many
bands and in local theaters and
festivals. "For the last year, I've
been singing with the world renowned
Mount Madonna Choir in Santa Cruz
California. This is an amazing choir
and all twenty-four singers are
extremely talented. The Choir was
founded in 1975 and has two goals
that I really like. First, to inspire
every individual in their personal
quest for peace and, second, to
help those in need. In some small
way, I hope my participation gives
back to the community for the many
gifts I have received over the years."

This summer, Charlie
and the choir recorded their seventh
CD, Songs for the Journey –
a compilation of songs to inspire
us along life's path.
From the Beatles and Eric Clapton
to Sweet Honey in the Rock, the
CD hopes to inspire the listener
and each song carries a message
of hope, faith and courage to help
us on the journey of life.
The choir is closely affiliated
with the Mount Madonna Center, one
of the nation's leading retreat
and conference centers near Watsonville,
California. The Center, in turn,
is a sister organization to the
Sri Rama Foundation which sponsors
an orphanage at the base of the
Himalayas. A portion of the proceeds
of the sales all recordings go to
support this compassionate and richly
rewarding work.
If you'd
like a copy of "Songs for the Journey",
just send $15 plus $3 for shipping
